ALU entry doors — security and appearance

Aluminum entry doors combine modern aesthetics with mechanical strength that is hard to match in other materials. The thick profile and stable frame will not bow like lighter materials, which complicates forced entry and gives a sense of a secure threshold. The panel is chosen from the standard or premium range — from flat and single-color to panels with a wood decor insert.

The recommended package for entry doors includes a thermal break, multi-point locking and a security cylinder. For more demanding projects, RC1 or RC2 burglar-resistance class is available, including panic hardware for commercial and public buildings.

Sliding ALU doors for the terrace

Sliding aluminum doors solve large openings onto the terrace, garden or pool. A single sash can be up to around 4 meters wide, and wider openings are built with multiple sashes. Lift-and-slide variants (HS) deliver significantly better thermal insulation and are our recommendation for living rooms.

Bi-fold ALU systems fold the sashes to one side and open the opening almost completely — well suited to hotels, restaurants and residential properties with a view. When choosing the system we measure the opening, check wall load capacity and discuss the preferred direction of travel.

Thermal break, no thermal break — where the trade-off lies

For entry doors, the thermal break eliminates condensation and heat loss through the metal profile. We recommend it whenever the doors open onto a heated space. The cheaper non-thermal-break variant is used for utility entrances, unconditioned buildings or exterior openings where heat loss is not a concern.

For sliding systems onto terraces, the thermal break is also the rule when a heated space is involved. The combination of a thermal break and triple glazing delivers notable energy savings, especially on large openings.

Anodized hardware — when it makes sense

Anodizing is an electrochemical process that creates a protective oxide layer on aluminum. Its advantages are greater resistance to wear and scratches, color stability and no need for repainting. It is ideal for coastal properties due to salt air and strong UV exposure.

The drawback is a more limited color palette (mostly metallic tones: silver, gold, bronze, stainless) and a higher price — around 25–40% more than powder coating. For classical inland residential properties, powder coating is a common and more affordable choice.

Process, installation and warranty

After measurement and a conversation about the model, you receive a written quote with specifications for panel, hardware, glass and color. During installation we verify frame stability, the closing mechanism and the final seal. When replacing, we remove and dispose of the old doors at no cost.

The warranty is 1 to 5 years, depending on the model, panel and hardware. The exact duration and scope are stated in the quote, along with maintenance recommendations.

From first call to final check

1. Project conversation

Call us or send an email with basic information about the property and the openings you want to replace. Photos help, but they do not replace precise on-site measurement.

2. Free measurement

We come to your address in Nikšić, Podgorica, the coast or anywhere in Montenegro. We discuss the choice and go through the details on site.

3. Written quote

You receive the specification, price, timeline and warranty before any order is placed. Questions are welcome at this stage.

4. Production and installation prep

Lead time depends on the system and order size and is agreed in writing. Please prepare access to the openings before our arrival.

5. Installation and removal of old joinery

For replacements we dismantle and remove the existing joinery free of charge. We walk you through operation and maintenance.

What else would you like to know - alu doors?

  1. 01 How much do aluminum entry doors cost?

For entry doors into a heated space, a thermal break is recommended. It prevents condensation and heat loss through the metal profile.

  3. 03 Can ALU doors have glass?

Yes, the panel can include a fanlight or glass insert. For security, tempered or laminated safety glass is used.

  4. 04 What is anodizing?

  5. 05 Can an ALU sliding door be 4 m wide?

A single sash can reach around 4 meters. Wider openings are built with multiple sashes combining movable and fixed elements.

  6. 06 What is the difference between RC1 and RC2 class?
